The Brownsville Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA), founded in 1997, is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization run solely on volunteer support, public donations and membership dues. Donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The mission of the Brownsville SPCA is to help improve the quality of life for our area pets. We are dedicated to encouraging responsible pet ownership through our adoption program, to the reduction of overpopulation by promoting spay/neuter and to helping educate our public on the proper care of pets. All of our pets are spayed and/or neutered and up to date on vaccinations at the time of adoption.
The Brownsville SPCA strives to rescue animals from the streets, high-kill shelters, puppy mills and other at risk situations, in and around the Brownsville area by providing their needs, medical care and much needed love.
We are a foster home based organization. All of our rescues are in private foster homes in and around the Brownsville area. We rescue, provide medical care, rehabilitate, evaluate and search for the appropriate foster and/or adoptive homes for each of our rescues to continue to be supported, nurtured and loved while they are in our care until they are in their forever homes.
General meetings are held every 4th Wednesday each month at Denny's Restaurant located at 6131 Paredes Line Road in Brownsville, TX at 6:00 PM—everyone is welcome—our general meetings are open to our public.
